Should these holes be here?
Is there supposed to be a hole in the track where the window sits? There is a hole on both sides of the cab. Seems like a good idea to keep water from rotting the channel but at the same time it means water might drip into the tub...

Re: Should these holes be here?
Yes leave them there. They don't drip into the tub however.
If I remember right they just drip into the cowl which drains out of the bottom of the truck behind the fenders. Important to keep it all clean from debri, or it will rust for sure. |

Re: Should these holes be here?
They are there from the factory so if the windshield gasket leaks your dash doesnt collect water. They do in fact drain inside the tub though.
If your truck is parked just right it will drip on the fuse box or emergency brake mechanism and also gets the dimmer switch wet.

Re: Should these holes be here?
If that is indeed the case then that's the dumbest design I've heard of.
If GM were smart they could of at least had a nipple under the hole to connect a small drain hose and direct it to a less important place like,,,,,,OUTSIDE THE TRUCK I've seen it on other cars, and this would seem to be a prime candidate. |
