Q's about upgrading my front end-brakes and steering

I have a 69 GMC short stepside L6 3spd. I want to upgrade the brakes over to disc (six lug right now) and steering to power steering. Is there a logical order to do the upgrades? If I did one at a time, would it be a pain? Am I going to double spending on certain parts by doing it this way (I.E. a pitman arm, etc; )? I'd like to do the power steering first because it seems to be the easiest and cheapest to get done. I'd like to do the discs second and collect all the necessary parts over time because I am on a budget.

Thanks in advance!

Re: Q's about upgrading my front end-brakes and steering

If the brakes are working properly, I'd say steering first then disc as funds allow. You should'nt have any double spending to change those items. As I always say [but don't always do] get the truck steering good and braking good get everything safe so you can drive. The truck is a lot more fun on the road than in the shop[ for most people]but there are some like me that rather work on them than drive them. Disc brakes are ok if properly set up and adjusted right. The OEs used them for EVER before coming into the newer disc technoligy iton the 60's and 70's. So if it was good for them it will be ok for you until you get some coins, the economy is gonna turn around
