what drive shaft too use?
Hey there forum..So I have a 63 suburban with a 350 sbc and a 350 trans...The trans tail housing appears to be a long one measuring 9 1/4 long. My rear end is still the original. I need a 1 piece drive shaft that measures 55 1/4 long or a bit smaller. Anything out there thats straight bolt on? Maybe a junk yard set up? Please help thanks

Re: what drive shaft too use?
One of the things I don't cut corners on (safety equipment is another), is the driveshaft, particularly for the price (~$280) v. potential savings of modifying a used shaft compared to the damage/safety concerns - I would just rather save a few bucks elsewhere. Since he is not too far away, I would highly recommend contacting Wade at Drivelines Incorporated and talk with him about your application, etc.

Re: what drive shaft too use?
I called over there but wade was busy so I spoke to another dude..he quoted me for 340 out the door which I think is fair. He was asking me about the u joint for the rear . He asked if I knew the size which I dont. Any ideas what size joint I need ? Its the stock differential that came with the 63 burban. I was thinking of just calling auto zone and asking If they carry it for that year and getting my info there.

Re: what drive shaft too use?
Yeah, I read over your first post and realized that that will be a very long driveshaft. You'll have to provide pretty specific measurements, so I would also measure the yoke, but I would imagine it is a 1310.
Here is what I use to have new driveshafts built. http://markwilliams.com/Images/DshaftOrderLg.jpg
