90 GMC k1500, AAI-GM9
I have a 90 GMC k1500 with stock stereo and slave tape deck and want to add an aux input to the stock stereo.
Will the AAI-GM9 work? Says it works for 95's and up, and I know that is a different radio than mine. http://pac-audio.com/productDetails....&CategoryID=24 I want to retain the completely stock look and add auxillary jack. If the above doesn't work, anybody know of one that does? Or if I can tap into the wires going to the slave unit? Thanks, Marc |

Re: 90 GMC k1500, AAI-GM9
I'm not 100% sure, but I had one for my S10. It didn't have a slave though, so this might be the issue because mine didn't have a switch. Only the radio had an AUX button I pushed to make it switch. I still have it at home and can take a pic you need, but I think pulling out your deck to see what connections in the rear are available will tell a better story.

Maybe take a look at the Audiovox FMM100. Does what you want and "hardwired" via antenna...maybe not the best option but perhaps will work.

I like the modulator idea, haven't thought of that yet. First I have to get rid of this engine whine through the radio. Ran a new ground but I'm still getting the noise.
Alternator, maybe? |
