Manual Rack and Pinion
on my 66' with a sectioned cross member, my fabricator says he wants to use a mid 90's cavalier power and rack and pinion. I want manual for cleanliness in the engine bay, should I use a mustang 2 manual rack? or loop the cavalier? I am worried the ratio will be off and looping a power rack will be harder to turn.
If it makes a difference I am on bags, dropped spindles, cupped lower arm, and a sectioned crossmember, and laying frame. I imagine we will have to notch the frame and box it in the steering rack area. |

Re: Manual Rack and Pinion
Have a non power rack in mine. Fat Man Fab. bolt in front end. Drives like a dream but some what of a challenge in close quarters. Esp. with a small steering wheel

Re: Manual Rack and Pinion
Nates dropmember uses a 79-93 mustang rack i believe if im right same thing should work for you too.Slow speeds anything under 15mph turning might get a little hard but over that manual and power act the same to me.
