i got on it
motor is broke in so i've been getting on it a little bit to see what it will do. i'm pretty impressed with it. with my 2.73 highway gears it will do 100 ft burnouts very easily. when i go to 3.73's im gonna need some massive tires. if i get on it in 1st below about 25-20 mph it breaks loose pretty bad. i took 2 friends for a ride yesterday and went from a 30 mph punch shifted early at 4500 and it still spun some into second and the throttle got stuck wide open when i let off and shifted into 3rd, lol. had to turn it off and coast to a stop. but they were both really impressed and one drives an sc'd car and the other a twin turbo so they are good judges. i'm pleased with it. now i just need money for carb, gears, posi, tires, ignition......................lastly nitrous

You're gonna need more than tires. Better start thinking about some Caltacs, moving the gas tank to the rear and anything else you can think of to take weight off the front.
Sounds like a lot of fun though. Buying tires for it will break the bank for sure. Oh, and you think it's bad with 2.73's, just wait until you get the 3.73's in it. The posi will help tremendously, but still no traction. You going to up the stall?

i put a hughes 10 inch 2500 stall in it, but they rate them using alot lower torque figure than what i'm making so its probly alot closer to 3000.

Great!!! I'm glad it worked out for you and you're happy with the final results. With 3.73's your tires won't live long, no matter how wide they are. I'm also glad that converter is working out for you, it has to be much better than that crappy "Hackler" so-called converter.

Sweet Ryan!! I still want to see that thing out on the track. I bet you could do some real burnouts out there.

Ain't it fun when something you do works real well? That sticking wide open thing would worry me a bit, though,.

My throttle has stuck on me on several occasions. I think my floormat got on top of my pedal and kept it down. It hasn't done it in awhile. Ryan, or anybody who knows, how did youget the 408 is it a 350 or 400 block?
