I'm building a 82 LWB with a 700hp big block.... I want to drive it daily, and do well at the track (4 or 5 times a year)... Is a four link something I should avoid? I would prefer to stay with leafs, and maybe Cal Tracs or something... However, If I'm going to sacrifice a second at the track, I would probably go 4 link... What are your thoughts?

Lots of people been real fast on Caltracs and leafs . There are alot of 275 guys running these and putting down alot of power , plus it would be alot cheaper than a back half .

Couple of things to think about. With long wheelbase what are the weight splits front to back. Mustangs and Camaro's can get real close to 50/50 on the weight and you can get weight off the nose pretty easy. When putting that much power in a long wheel base truck hook is going to be a a premium no matter what. A little more information on the complete package would help make for better answers on choices.

I agree with the 67-72 arm deal... Just trying to keep the truck VERY road friendly, and in the 11's...

If you decide on a streetable but different suspension this:http://www.hotrodstohell.net/truckar...karm_index.htm is what I would do. It gives you a nice ride with the ability to adjust your springs by turning a bolt. Otherwise I would move my multileafs? inboard of the framerails and use the Cal-trac bars.

Sure looks like it. But i think the 1/4 pass was on 10.5s

If the frame is not going to be narrowed/tubbed etc., then you could actually run both 4-link and leafs (although i would use ladder bars). Think about it.

Why not just try the no-hop bars first? Will it really be 1 sec slower?

You can make the cal tracs work just fine. Save some of the.money for whatever else you may need. Tjere is a thread on yb.com called caltrac tuning or something to that effect. Lots of good info there to help you get it all sorted out.
