Pre bent brakeline kits?

Finally got everything straight and ready to test drive, drove around the yard and blew a brake line, glad I did it in the yard instead of on the road. I'm going to replace all my brake lines just to be safe, but all the bending looks tricky and tough, but doable. I installed a new line to my clutch slave cylinder, not too bad.

Has anyone used the pre bent brake line kits from LMC or similar? Wondering if they're any easier or worth it?

Yes, I've just installed them. Haven't tested, but they were worth the price to me, saved time. Some have gotten good results from inlinetube.com/, I think I had read that Inlinetube gets their stuff from getdiscbrakes.com/, which is where I ordered mine from. They shipped to the wrong state, and when I finally did get them, the two small lines that come off of the Master Cylinder seemed backwards so I didn't try and replace those two. But everything else fit nice.

3 /16 line bends super easy by hand and is dirt cheap with flares and ends on already. I bent up my own in a short time. the master lines take special nuts and one line is quarter and one 3 /16 so its hard to get them backwards. Id say impossible caus the 1/4 line has two different ends and the 3/16 has matching ends.

I mean backwards as in bent backwards, as in - for the wrong truck. Good luck bending, flaring etc... I never said it would be hard, just time consuming.
Oh and my lines are like the Original Manufacture lines, with ribbing around specific areas, how about yours, are they HD?

Bend your own. I wish I would have. InLine Tube stainless didn't fit very well. They said it was my fault.

napa sells the lines with springs on them like the oe. that actually keeps you from kinking them when you bend them. a 51" line is about 6 bucks and that for a coated one that will last for ever. they have flares and ends on them already so all you need to buy is invert butt connectors. I did my back line new across the rear one 41" line and one 20" line and i run a rubber brake hose for a 98 3500 truck caus it has the t built on and is 22" all that together hose and all cost me 35" bucks and the hose was 24 of that. Id say you could plum your whole system for around 60 bucks. as a tip if you measure 40 " get no more than 41" line cause you cant put enough bends in to eat up more than an inch of line. and it will look much better with less bends you can get a tube bender at hf for a few dollars but i bent most of mine by hand unless i needed and true 90*

I had the same problem and they said the same thing... sending mine back and ordering all the stuff to bend my own

That sucks...my lines from inline tube fit great! The only ones that didn't were because i used a different master cylinder, but everything on the frame and to the rear end was spot on. I was able to straighten and re-bend the ones they sent for the master to make it work too.

^ Sounds like my situation.
The ones that don't fit for my MC I don't care because the ones on there now are still good.
I'd imagine bending the front to be a tougher chore due to the many bends compared to the rear.
All the front ones I got fit perfect. If I had to do it all over again, I'd buy pre-bent w/o question.
And I think the ribbing around some areas is to keep the line itself from vibrating/rubbing against the frame/metal.
If your lines rub/vibrate - I'd think over the coarse of time they will wear a hole.

I purchased ALL my brake lines and drop lines in Stainless steel from www.inlinetube.com for my 67 GMC C2500.
The first call was to a guy who did not know the products very well yet. But the second salesman was a good tech and asked me the right questions such as leaf or coil springs, long or short wheel base, and ID of drum brakes.
So far everything fits great. I worked for no more than 2 hours and had all old factory lines removed and new lines installed. All I have left is the long run from under the cab to the rear brakes. I really could NOT be more happy with the quality of the product and ease of installation.

I just bent up some lines on mine last night.....So simple, I don't understand why buying pre-bent lines?

Part of working on your truck is doing it yourself. Sure, messing up at first is all part of it, but you LEARN from your mistakes and become better with practice.

I'm not throwing stones here....just saying. Why not learn how to do it yourself instead?

Exactly. I bought pre-bent lines because I've been there and done that enough that I don't want to do it again. I'm more than capable, I just didn't want to mess with it. I wanted a back to factory install.

I walked in the door at inline and walked out 5 minutes later with the prebent rear line for my 87 longbed. By time I buy the tube, cut to length, make all the funky bends for a dual tank diesel, flare the cut end, etc, the price of the prebent was cheaper than parts + time.

At $189 or so for complete stainless line set, that's where I'm going for my rebuild. That much tube would probably be $50 and if it saves me 3 hours of annoyance I'd consider the rest well spent.

Here is the really easy way to answer that question.... If you dont have descent bending tools and you dont intend on bending anymore lines... then purchase a pre bent line set. personally I like bending my own lines but then again, I have descent tools to do it.

This was my problem. I didn't have a good flaring tool. I actually was able to borrow one for the few flares I needed to do, and a good tool made my experience from impossible to easy. Still, I don't think I would have liked to bend the lines on the front crossmember...looked like a PITA.

bend ur own all the way. much cheaper and u can bend the way u want.

Ought to try bending fuel line for a stovebolt that follows the contour of the valve cover, clears the water neck inlet, bends around the side and clears factory horn....

Haha! Shoot...I'm leary on bending simple one from my fuel pump to the carb on my 350...
