My 66 is a standard cab. It has the silver surround and silver glove box emblem with chevrolet painted fawn. bone stock.

thanks pdx, I was wondering what it was supposed to be. In my 66, even though it is custom cabbed, it makes sense now to hear you say that the chevrolet letters were painted fawn on the glove box - I could not tell for sure on mine and thought they were faded... Oops, they are black NOW! (after I painted em). Looks good enough, but good piece of info in case I ever re-do it.

So, it sounds like the consensus is that 64-65 was black and 66 was silver, regardless of custom cab option, etc??
