4" Superlift ordered...couple questions

I just ordered a 4" Superlift spring/block lift kit (P/N K448) for my 90 3/4 4wd Suburban. This kit includes the basics plus shocks, but not brake lines, the steering arm, dropped pitman or t-case lowering kit. I'm brand new to this gen of trucks, so I was curious if yall could enlighten me as to what else I might need to complete this installation. I won't be able to tackle it for another week or two, so I'll have time to order any other parts that are necessary.

A rasied steering arm works well with a 4 inch lift.
The original one is fun to get off the axle.

Get some longer brake lines.

Don't lower the case.

Think about disconnecting the sway bar.

What gears do you have and what tire size are you going with?

I'll go ahead and order a steering arm and the brake lines. Any suggestions on where to get the brake lines for a reasonable price? I noticed ORD has them for about $120, but figured there might be a better option. With something this big and top heavy, I might see about a sway bar disconnect system, not sure how it would feel at highway speeds and such with one permanently disconnected, unless that's what's required with the lift. I have no idea what gears are in this one yet, haven't ran any numbers since I got it a few days ago. Tires will either be 33" or 35", still haven't figured out exactly what will fit with this 4" kit.

Get the quick disconnect for the swaybars. The swaybar on the road is your friend.

The ones from ORD are awesome. I got them for my 85 crew cab. I have a set of ORD's heavy duty shackles for the front of these trucks. $70 shipped with poly bushings and greaseable hardware if you're interested.

i have got lines from ORD and their disconnect kit, im happy with them.


with 4" u can do 33, 35" maybe depending on ur offset and how much u actually want it to flex.

What part number are those shackles? If they fit my application I'll take them. Ordering brake lines, steering arm and sway bar disconnect now (all from ORD).

Little cone things? You mean the grease boots?

Got everything I need (hopefully) ordered today. Lift kit, extra shocks for the front dual set up, brake lines, steering arm, sway bar disco...missing anything else?

I think that he means the hold down cones and nuts for the steering arm. They may come in the kit? not sure

The little cone things are the cone "washers" used on the steering arm.
I have been able to save them everytime though.

Think about only using one shock in the front.

Gotcha. Haven't pulled one off before so I don't know exactly what part they are, but I'm sure I'll find out soon enough. I'll be sure to be careful when I pull it off so as to try not to break them.

As far as one shock, what would the advantage of that set up be over the factory dual shock set up?

Dont remember the part number. If you look on ORD they are the only ones they sell. They fit stock springs if you use your stock bushings or lift springs with the bushings that ORD supply. I have the bushings they supply so either way you will be able to use them. Everything is new and never even mounted! LMK, thanks.

Gotcha. I was just asking about the part number since they list two different size bushings for different lift springs (one for SkyJacker and Superlift and one for all other lift springs). That might be for the bushing on the other end of the spring though now that I look again. Sorry for the confusion. I'll shoot you a PM about payment and shipping...thanks!!

And fyi...72 Cheyenne Super...nice truck!! (Although I might be a bit biased myself...)

On the steering arm. Use a BFH and hit the end where the balljoint attaches. Downward. Hitting it upwards like you think would work only makes it tighter. You will understand when it's off. Also hitting the sides helps loosen it up. The cones will just loosen up with the side to side and down ward hitting. Also heat helps if you have a torch... And don't worry about being careful. If you are, it will not come off. Just get angry with it.

Agreed. Heat it up with the torch, and hit the hell out of it. That's the only real way to get it off.
