motor mount position

I'm pulling a motor swap soon in my 67 suburban and am hoping someone can help me out on motor mount positioning. removing a 292 I-6 the mount on the driver side is in the two rear frame holes and the two front holes on the passenger side. where is correct for small block ? which is easier ? I am also swapping trannys and will have a driveshaft built, so those will not affect my placement(will it?) sorry for the length, any help would be great - trying to save myself some trial and error hassle if possible. thanks!

The sb stands mount in the foward holes on the frame......the stands are different for 292,250 , & sb(driver side on the 292 should be the same a the 250 inline), but the pass side is foward due to fuel pump location on the block. You have a couple choices, you can change the pass side stand, & mount the sb in I 6 /250 location, or go for the sb stands, & setup like factory. Either way works, but the I 6 position leaves the HEI dist d@mn close to the firewall. Good luck, crazyL

V8 mounts

i have a question along the same lines. soon im swapping a hotter cam/torque converter. ive read about moving the SBC motor mounts backwards to redestribute the weight and get better traction. does anyone if this makes a noticable differece in rear traction? does anyone know the weight ratio on the front wheels compairs to the rear wheels? for instance, i read somewhere that the new mitsubish EVO has a 60/40 weight ratio. im going to try and find out this weekend on my c10.
