Which Rear Differential??
Anyone know what years and what models have a 3.73 rear diff, that would swap into my '64 Chevy 4x4 Burb? I would like to find something that bolts up with no problems?

Re: Which Rear Differential??
The 10 bolt from the 85 blazer that I used on my 69 truck had 3.73. I believe its the same axle for pickups of that era. You may or may not have to move the perches though. Look for the two flat ears sticking out from the lower part of the diff, while looking at the cover, it's a good indicator of the 8.5 ring gear. Then check for the tag, if its not there, look for 41 11 stamped on the ring gear.

Keep the 12 bolt and rebuild with 3.73s

Re: Which Rear Differential??
A 10 or 12 bolt from '63-'87 from a K5 or K10 should bolt up. But from about '73 and up the shock brackets will be different than what you have now. Another 12 bolt would ensure that your current U-joint will bolt up.

That is great info fellas.....there was a pop back by the rear end and now it will not go in reverse bit will go forward. Any ideas what that could be? I think rebuilding the rear end that is in it would be idea....not sure what that kinda repair could cost though!
