Dana 60 axle shaft oil slinger bushing
What is the purpose of haveing a brass type bushing in my one of my stub shafts found in my oil slinger. My one axle shaft had one and the other side didn't? I cannot remember which side had it as I dissassembled it a while ago. I am getting ready to upgrade to 35 spline stub shafts on my Dana 60. Do I need this bushing? Which side should it be on? It is almost like a thick washer.

Re: Dana 60 axle shaft oil slinger bushing
Are you talking about the spindle thrust washer? is it tapered on the inside? There is no oil slinger on the axle assembly other than the one on the pinion.
I have come across a few of the bronze type washers....the new repalcement for them are made of nylon. I could never find a replacement for just the thrust washer, you will have to buy a Spicer spindle service kit and it will be in it along with an axle shaft lip seal, spindle seal and inner spindle bearing. But yes you must have one on each side.

Re: Dana 60 axle shaft oil slinger bushing
I just found my bronze type thrust washers should I reuse them or use my new nylon one's that came in my spindal rebuild kit. I am thinking of reusing the bronze thrust washers again. Should I?
