1978 AWD bonanza?
I found one on CL recently, and I know what the bonanza trim was but I didn't know if Chevy made a AWD c10 in addition to their 4x4. Is this truck legit?

Re: 1978 AWD bonanza?
It is full time 4x4, the transfer case is a NP203 and the front axle has drive flanges instead of lock in hubs. Yes it is legit. The transfer case has hi, hi-loc, lo, lo-loc. In hi and low it acts as awd but when you put it in Loc both axles spin at the same rate of speed.

Re: 1978 AWD bonanza?
Thanks guys. I have heard that early AWD is a expensive pain to work on. Any one have any experience with a AWD Chevy truck?

Re: 1978 AWD bonanza?
I use a 78 3/4 ton with full time four wheel drive for plowing.
I don't find it any more expensive or painful to work on than any other 4X4 |

Re: 1978 AWD bonanza?
maybe a few more front end stuff but it sure is handy in the winter
4X4 turns into $X$ only if you leave the caps on lol
