Rear Spring Swap How To????
If there is already a how to please post a link for me. But I have a set of chevelle springs I want to swap out to get a 3" drop in the rear of my 67 LWB. Just need some pics and how to on swapping these suckers out! Someone told me you just unbolt and swap then rebolt. I haven't even looked yet, but figured better safe than sorry!

I'm not sure if you've been warned, but you may not get 3" drop from those Chevelle springs. I installed some A/G body (Chevelle) springs in the rear of one of my trucks & got ZERO drop. It all depends on how much 'sag' your current springs have.

Re: Rear Spring Swap How To????
It looks like on my truck the PO used this truck for hauling/pulling a trailer. He had a rear hitch on it, coil over shocks, and looks like newer heavy duty rear springs (maybe from a C20?). So I'm fairly positive this'll drop me some anyway. Also gonna get some new regular shocks to swap out with.
Guess I need to lift it by the frame then, unbolt one side at a time, swap, then do other side then? Went out and looked at it a few minutes ago, looks fairly simple. Hate when I say that though. Means it's gonna take twice as long as I would think!

Re: Rear Spring Swap How To????
Got 'em! Took me more time finding blocks and getting it jacked up more than anything. Only took me about 30 min a side at the most though. Pretty easy, just jacked up my rear (one side at a time) placing the jack on the frame to take the load off the suspension and unbolted each bolt in the top and bottom of the spring. Removed and put the spring cups in the other springs and bolted it in. Easy enough. Here's pics for you of what I did. Thanks guys.

Re: Rear Spring Swap How To????
Yep got 5" from previous! I was only expecting about 3", but I love the way the rear tire looks in the wheelwell now. Gonna attempt cutting the front coil this weekend. Probably do one full coil = 2" drop. I'll put a pic on here for ya when I get it.
Thanks for the compliments guys! Can't wait to do a full restore though.
