Re: Firewall throttle linkage 1960 apache

That is one cool looking truck, Doobie!! I had to fab the linkage for mine. Here is a couple of pics... I made mine for about $8.00 with pieces from a hardware store. Threaded aluminum rod and a heim link attached to the short arm. Works great for my setup.

Re: Firewall throttle linkage 1960 apache

Hey Sam can you get me some more pics of your Fab job, and list the parts I will need so I wont sound like an idiot at the store?! I am thinking of going that way and getting rid of the metal hanger piece setup that is still there from the previous owner. I think that may be easier than go
ing to pull a part, getting a new pedal assembly and so on...?

ApacheWillard,
If you will PM your email address, I can send you pictures and all of the parts you need to ask for. I looked like a real dumba$$ in the hardware store trying to describe the heim link (I didn't know what they were called). The poor guy that worked there had this blank stare the whole time. Finally, an old hot-rod guy walked past him and said "Come on, I'll get you straightened out." Thank goodness! He was a life saver!!

Samuell, that looks good. I've seen some similar to yours on the speed shop mail orders around 40-50 bucks. Some times we all need to improvise on these bad ass trucks...
