LooseCannon's Bagged Baby Blue 68
I acquired a faded green 71 longbed with a 250 six from a local farmer. I wanted a beater truck for running parts and the price was right ($250) so I took it off his hands. Well, things have changed and now my plans are to build a baby blue 68 clone with a front dropmember, weld in 4 link, bags, 20" Coys, stock 250 six, Vintage air, and buddy buckets.
Joseph (member name jdurant) from EastsideDesignLab.com worked up some sick renderings of my vision. He has done work for other members and is a class act! I highly recommend him! I'm generally not a fan of chrome and like the "poverty look" of white bumpers so I'm leaning toward #3 but still undecided, what do you think? 1. 2. 3. Here's the 71.. A 72 parts truck I got for the SWB frame and bed. I plan on putting the 71 cab on the 72 frame and running a 68 clip. I just want a cruiser so the 250 with a 350 turbo will be used. Won't be much progress until I finish a couple of honey do's and bagging my 05 burb (see signature) but I had to start the build thread after getting the renderings from Joseph Last edited by LooseCannon; 01-06-2010 at 12:26 AM. |

Re: LooseCannon's Bagged Baby Blue 68
Cool build...will be following along!
I am into smooth myself but appreciate factory moldings. That being said....I actually like #2 also. It's different in a good kind of way. 3 would be my 2nd choice. Either way it's going to be cool

Re: LooseCannon's Bagged Baby Blue 68
I've contemplated running white bumpers on mine, but didn't think it would look right with the trim on the side. You could prove me wrong!
Needless to say, I think your rendering looks perfect! |

You probably don't remember but years ago I PM'd you about your truck. Yours is one of the influences of my build.

Re: LooseCannon's Bagged Baby Blue 68
#3 looks great - I kinda wonder how she would look with body matching "baby blue" bumpers! I think it would really make the white in the grill POP! Either way - it will look "CHOICE" (Cool 80's word that I thought came to mind for your build )!

Re: LooseCannon's Bagged Baby Blue 68
Subscribed for one heck of a build...
As for me, I like the look of #2 and #3, with #3 ranked first. The poverty bumpers really pull the truck together. I'm just not a fan of the blue grill area on #1, but to each their own. Best of luck on the decision and can't wait for some progress.

Re: LooseCannon's Bagged Baby Blue 68
Mainly collecting parts. I have the front dropmember, bags, rack and pinion, 68 front sheet metal, buddy buckets, etc... The yellow 72 is stripped to the frame and ready for a cleaning before the dropmember install. Once the burb is out of the shop I'll have more time for this project and will post up some progress pics. Thanks for checking.

Re: LooseCannon's Bagged Baby Blue 68
Just found this build...I know it's not a poll, but I'm digging #3 as well. Love the white grille and bumpers. My question is: Is your frame donor a real BB SWB Cheyenne?
