'69 CST without Cargo Light

Does anyone know when the cargo light became part of the CST/Cheyenne package? I've seen 69 CST's both ways.

Re: '69 CST without Cargo Light

Not sure exactly when the change, but the early 69 CSTs didn't have a cargo light or headliner. Mine doesn't. It also has CST side markers with no holes for lights...

Re: '69 CST without Cargo Light

As said, it was a midyear part. Seems the cargo light and headliner wasn't ready for the begining of the 69 model year run.

Mine is the same. If fact the markers not only lack lights, they don't have the metal trim either. I asked why when I bought the truck new why it didn't have a headliner. The dealer called Chevrolet. They responded that my truck was made the first week of Dec., 1968, and the change adding the headliner was a week or 2 later. I think the date was Dec. 14. I don't know about the cargo light since I didn't know it was also added. The truck was made in Fremont, CA.

My 69 CST has the headliner and doesn't have the cargo light.

I can't say 1st hand, but I bought my truck from the original owner who picked it up at the factory (Tarrytown, NY) - Dec '68 build date and no headliner or cargo light, has all the other CST fixings
