My 67.
Hey everyone. I have been a member here for about 6 months and I figure it is about time I show ya my truck. It is a 67 longbed Fleetside. It has just over 85000 original miles on the original 327. It has a turbo 400 tranny, but I'm not sure of the rearend specs. I bought it when i was 15 and have been workin on it ever since it is my first pickup. It is my baby. I named her Big Bertha. The guy only drove it once or twice a year to haul his camper. It was hit in the side, but they fixed it up the best they could. It sat for 5 or 6 years the lady said after her husband died. It was funny cause I always wanted a 70-72, but once I got this one I fell in love with the looks. I tried some Auto body classes in High School, but dropped out cause the Teacher was a retard and wouldn't ever help me. Plus he mentioned to me that I should just take a stick of Dynamite and toss it in the cab. You don't say that to anyone, especially a 16 year old who worked hard to pay his dad back the 800 bucks. But I hope ya like it I sure do. I hope to finish it when I get off my mission in two years. Thanks guys. Any comments are welcome.

I sure hope none of my boys shop teachers say anything like that to them when he gets older (I don't think it would be pretty) Can't wait to see some pic's. Also make sure that teacher is the first to see your truck when its done. dig dig

As a teacher myself I'd like to say how sorry I am about your bad experience. Sounds like your back on track now and that is good. Looking forward to the pics.
I've included some of my students and my project. |

Re: My 67.
pick up some literature on paint and bodywork at your local book store and learn to do it yourself, that ol' truck would be awesome to learn on.Some of the best paint and body guys around here learned it themselves,my stuff turns out pretty good and I don't even have a garage

Re: My 67.
So it has been a LONG time since I have posted on my thread, but I wanted to ask you guys a question. I hope it makes sense. The one day I went out and started my truck to let it warm up for the day because it was a cold day. Anyways I got in and put my foot on the brake and tried to shift into reverse. As I pulled in and down I felt it the shifter break loose and then it wouldn't go into gear. I had my dad come look at it with me and it will shift if you do it from under the hood and move the linkage where it needs to be. So I am not sure what part or parts I am going to need to fix it. If you guys have any ideas let me know. Thanks guys.
