What is the likelyhood.....

What is the likelyhood of the 307 in my 69 c10 being assembled in Flint,Mi and the truck being assembled in California?Through a vin/casting # search that seems to be the case. Were engines sent to Ca or vise versa? Thanks.

Re: What is the likelyhood.....

Pretty safe bet that the engine came from Michigan. Whats the engine I.D. on the pad in front of the passenger cylinder head. It should read something like V0101UU, this is just an example but would break down like this: V= Flint engine plant, 01= month, 01= day, and UU is one of twelve suffix codes for 307's in 69. ( all begin with the letter U ). You can't always trust suffix codes but the casting # on the back of the block never lies. The casting number should probably end in with the last 3 digits of either 020, 632, 373, or 371. I know this is way overkill but I love numbers when it comes to chevy engines. Hope it helps.
