Assistance Needed: Looking for a clean LS install thread
Okay guys... I love reading through all the threads this board has to offer, but I want to find a clean LS install thread that pretty well covers the complete install of an LS motor. By clean I mean, limiting the amount of guess work, etc.; pretty well just a step by step build similar to my 4.5/6" installation build thread.
I want to see what your recommendations are. Thanks in advance! Nate

Re: Assistance Needed: Looking for a clean LS install thread
I know what you mean, I could not find what I exactly needed either.
I think it was because it depends on how far back you want your engine to sit will decide what kind of motor mounts to use, which will factor in to what header or manifolds will fit and when it comes to wiring...Geesh! I think everybody does it different! I know that usmc chevy, Mcbassin and I wired ours differently but we used info from each other. I am not much being much help, huh? lol. I would like to offer any help I could, so if you gotta question I might be able to help with shoot me a PM anytime, I would be glad to try.

Re: Assistance Needed: Looking for a clean LS install thread
Not a problem RocketKing, and I appreciate your help on this.
There are numerous ways of doing it, and to each their own. For a newb related to LS installs I was looking for something to read through to start grasping an idea of what all is involved during the process. Maybe this won't be something I look into...

Re: Assistance Needed: Looking for a clean LS install thread
You thinking about installing one in the 69?
good luck finding exactly the thread you are looking for. If you you do be sure to post up a link here. Most of the ones I know of are just part of their build threads like mine and get kind of drawn out over time. I'm learning as I go and as I get the funds to do it. If you have all the money up front to do one it can be done in a timely manner for sure. You know about "Fred" build thread? Starting at post #258. Bob had his ducks in a row about as good as any I have seen. I know it's a different vintage but the major difference will be the fuel tank set up. At one point he talked about make a FAQ about the install. He kinda dissappeared after he finished the swap though. Now only make cameos occasionally |

Probably not what you are looking for, it's not a "how to" but my build thread on my old blue truck covers most of the bases.

Re: Assistance Needed: Looking for a clean LS install thread
Yeah, I did mine as I went and figured out things as I went. And now I'm thinking of "doing it again". Someday I'm going to move the engine back as far as I can, which will probably require custom engine mounts and a few other things.
