Need Help with Dodge Steel Rims........

I have done a search on here but not much luck.

I have a set of Dodge 20" steels I want to put on my truck. I have the 73 disc brake set up on my truck now with 5x5 lug pattern. I know some have used aluminum adapters to make it 5x5.5 but I think the added space of the adapter will push the rim out too far. I know others have had the rotors re-drilled. I called Moser and they will do it for $60 plus shipping.

I saw a truck at a show the other weekend that had them on and he said he bought chevy rotors that were already in a 5x5.5 pattern but he could not remember where he got them. I have heard some say that you can get rotors in pretty much any bolt pattern so they must be available somewhere??

My question is, does anyone know where I can buy a set of chevy rotors in 5x5.5?

To all of you that are running the Dodge wheels, how did you do it??

looked up on boltpattern.net, and the only gm product that showed up with a 5X5.5 is a 98 and up geo tracker....

I dont think that will work but thanks for at least trying. I think I might call Speedway tomorrow and see if thay might know. They carry a lot of street rod stuff and might know where to go.

I really wish I knew where to get these as it would be much cheaper then sending them out to get re-drilled.

I am not sure but if you want the 6 on 5.5, why not get the CPP spindles that leave the bolt pattern the same and add discs.

Drilling them is the easiest and quickest way to do it, a 5 bolt lug pattern is easy to space out, I needed 5 x 4.75 for some wheels I had and I just had them drilled. No drama no big expense........better that adapters due to spacing........Kieth

A couple years ago I talked with someone on the message board using the Dodge steelies. I asked him this question and he replied that he used adaptors and they had helped because the backspacing on these wheels was 6.5''. The deepest wheels I have run on these trucks is 5.5''.

I think I did read a while back that someone on here used adaptors that were 1 1/4 thick and they worked because of the rim offset.

I guess I will order two adaptors and see if they work with the front and the rear before I buy all four. Just wanted to get some advise before I have the rotors drilled. Oh and I called speedway and they do not carry any chevy 5x5.5 rotor........

MOTO, I think you should be good with the adapters and the steelies offset. I ran 20x8.5 with mid 5'' backspace on my burb and had no rub issues with 275/45/20's. The rear axle was a 5-lug 71-72 so a little wider than the earlier set-up. You may be tite on the inside rear but should be able to offset with the adapters.

Thanks for the response.. I think I'm just going to order the adapters and see how it works. If not I can always sell them along with all the other stuff I have collected along the way.. LOL

In for results. I have searched and searched trying to find the offset of these wheels. I have a 4 door 79 Impala that needs these wheels. Curious to see if those adaptors work for you.
