Help on Redoing a bench seat

Hey guys, I have a 67 chevy c10 that I plan on redoing the seat this winter.
I am planning on redoing my bench seat to its factory specs. I havnt done ra seat before and am looking for some pointers on where you guys have got your materials for the seat. I thought I have heard at one point the the 67 seat was unique but I am not sure. Is foam for the 67 different then the others or does it have to do with the springs.
I am also trying to do this on a tight budget since I am a college student. Has anyone bought the foam and shaped it themselves to save an extra buck? Or do you have to buy it shapped to work best.

Let me know what you know. Thanks
James
