So i was under my truck today and noticed that the bottom bushing on my body mount was about hanging off so my ? Is whats the pupose of body mount bushings are they just there for spacerers or is there a real pupose for them

I assume they serve two purposes.
Dampen road and engine vibrations for comfort.
Allow for frame flexing.

Patience, grasshopper -

Yes - it provides isolation of the cab from the frame.

If you were to use a solid washer, or spacer, then it would "ground out" allowing the vibrations to pass directly from the frame through the bolt and into the cab, where you would hear/feel it. The use of the rubber donut on the bottom completely disconnects the vibration path.

Not necessarily but it might be a good idea. After a while the rubber hardens and falls apart (atleast that's what mine did) and the bushings didn't do what they were supposed to. Replaced them with new ones....found out that the old bushings were compressed to like 3/4 what they should have been.
