any preference on aftermarket doorhandles for a 67
thinking about buying aftermarket (original style) chrome outside door handles for my 67, is there one brand that is nice than another ? or are they all made in the same place ? also what has to be done to make these work on the 67's i know something is different about the mounting points just not sure what it is ?

I can say one thing, they all start pitting in about 3 months if your truck is outside. By 6 months, you'll wonder why you even bothered.

Re: any preference on aftermarket doorhandles for a 67
I'll add that they're all made with plastic at the mounting points which can and likely will fail in short order. Might be worth looking into finding a decent used set of 67's and having them re-chromed....NOS 67's are worth 300 on the low end for a pair....

NOS 67's are impossible to fine I have been looking for years. I might have a extra set of used I would have to do some digging

Re: any preference on aftermarket doorhandles for a 67
The 67 outside handles have mounting points that are angled vs. all the other years which are straight

Re: any preference on aftermarket doorhandles for a 67
Yes 67 is by itself. Inside door handles, outside handles, vent windows and also upper door hidge id different. Im not saying a complete hidge want work, but you cant use the door catch off newer years on a 67.
The door has extra bracket welded in the inside that makes the door Handle different. Just in case anybody didnt know.

http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=371898 I'm not doing a restoration so I didn't mind cutting the inner bracket.
