Re: wilwood d-52 calipers

I would say it's just the difference in the pads that are manufactured today.
I would grind some clearance on it.
Have you looked at any other brands of pads?

Re: wilwood d-52 calipers

Could also be the rotor.
I wonder what brand CaptainFab used?

Re: wilwood d-52 calipers

I wonder if the o.d. of the rotor is larger than an oem rotor.
I find that aftermarket rotors or cheaper rotors seem to be more bulky.
I try to use Wagner brake parts.
You might contact CaptainFab.

I'm going to try a higher end brake rotor and see if it will work

Take a tape measure,... and measure the new one before you buy!

Re: wilwood d-52 calipers

I brought the rotor with me, at Orielly's and they only had the brake best in stock they said the Wagner's don't make rotors any more, and went to auto zone and there duralast rotor has a smaller outside diameter, and so I went to pepboys, but the duralast has the smallest od, I was going to return the rotors but I no longer have these boxes and I already painted the rotors.

Make sure you get this info to CaptFab. He might be able to make adjustments on his next run of parts.

I assume the duralast rotors did not have the raised outer portion?

Re: wilwood d-52 calipers

I had the same issue with the same brand of rotors brake best from oriely and wagner pads. wore the paint off my rotors just like your pic, i ended up modying the pads. will def try different rotors next time good info. The only issue im still having is having to use alot of wheel spacer to use my 15 x 10" draglites @ the strip, sucks pretty bad, scared drivers side wilwood caliper very deep. no probs when im running my street shoes (20 x 8.5 fr, 22 x 9 rear coys) of course. good luck
