Picked up a center console for my '78. It's wasn't in as good a shape as I had hoped for so I'm probably going to get it wrapped in leather or something.

Re: What did you get done 11/13/2011 edition

Built new exhaust for my 50. I love having a friend with a large shop along with an exhaust pipe bender!

My exhaust now runs out the back under the bumper, made things much quieter. Hum, now I need to fix those rattles and the wind noise.

Re: What did you get done 11/13/2011 edition

Managed to find the vaccume leak in my heater system and fix it, removed passenger side fender and repainted the inside. Since I had the fender off I decided to clean up the fire wall, came out quite nice.
So now I guess there is no excuse not to do the rest of the engine bay

Threw on some valve covers that I had in the garage for about 6 months. Tossed out the egr valve and installed block off plate. Now I need to find an Oil fill tube/ Oil cap. Also hoping to clean up this massive spider web of wires soon!

Re: What did you get done 11/13/2011 edition

Nothing major, oil change, new belts, 195 thermostat (heat!) and replaced a leaking water outlet plug in the intake. hopefully That fixed the leak, someone who didn't understand pipe thread overtightened the pipe plug and cracked the intake...

Re: What did you get done 11/13/2011 edition

Finally found two piece weather stripping for the vent windows on my 86 yesterday. I had tried a few of the vendors and came up with crappy one piece ws.. Pulled the vent window today and painted it up and then installed the new ws.. Walla!! It looked and fit like it should...

Re: What did you get done 11/13/2011 edition

I picked up a dual tank 78 lwb bed. It was a little more torn up than originally thought but for the 70 bucks I paid for I can take it and another bed and make one decent bed for my 79 project truck, hoping to turn the 79 this next summer to finance the little bit of rust repair on my 78 then maybe I can save up for my paint and be done with it. aka only do motor work and sit in lawn chairs at car shows lol. Debating about taking my seat out of my 78 for the winter so i can take it in and have it reupholstered. Speaking of reupholstery. I want some opinions on tan or grey with red interior. I want to break up all of the red in my truck but can't stand the idea of getting rid of any of the perfect factory trim and dash pad that is in the truck currently. Would it look bad to have a tan or gray seat with the rest of the interior being red? I'm also looking to have my headliner redone so I might be able to match it to the seat too.

Re: What did you get done 11/13/2011 edition

replaced my chewed up ring gear on my flywheel and after getting a bunch of starters from parts stores that weren't long enough (don't know how that is possible but it happened) I finally found one that worked and it happened to be sitting in my yard. Now when I turn the key it actually sounds like a starter should sound.

Re: What did you get done 11/13/2011 edition

picked up a tach cluster for the 78 jimmy was idiot lights
got it in now just need....elbo for the oil...adapter for the temp
removed the seat buzzer
added extra ground after actually seeing they all join here...and down to one wire, to the firewall
tightened the bolt down there ,quite loose
can't wait to see if it fixes the gas gauge after all
Thanks to VetteVet for wireing help

looks like a redo on the steering coupler
31011 makes it upside down....doorman said manual or power...69-86
but 31015 the "power" only one looked too small 73-90
but what a change in feel...highly recomend it
