I don't use a plain radiator hose chopped up to fit, since it is just plain mickey mouse.

What you need is the rigid hose with wire in it, and not the flex universal fit type either.
If you use plain hose, it will balloon over time and just be floppy which the pipe was intended to prevent.

The hose material I use is from an industrial hose/fitting supply house, and it's basically fuel hose that's USCG rated. I use it on my fuel fill, as well as the radiator up hose pieces. Keeps the metal pipe from sagging, and will last for many years worry free of bursting.
