Your VIN is 100063? can you post a pic as well?

I'm pretty sharp on mid 60's Pontiacs, but not that familiar with pre-1973 pickups.

Please post pics of your VIN plate in the door jamb, it will show how close your truck was to being the 1st truck off of the line at that plant.

Either is fine; the sequential portion of the VIN will tell us what we need to know (or get us close enough).

I'm just trying to distinguish between your VIN and what might be a daily build sequence number.

Dan
did the protect-o-plate come in the new vehicle warrantee folder or somewhere else? I have my trucks warrantee folder with original dealers imprint and my dad's name on the folder, but no evidence of the plate. I'm hoping he has it in some old file cabinet at home.

Re: Protect-o-Plate ?

KC, The 41 on your 1968 protect o plate is the last 2 digits of your PAINT code. In 1968 all paint codes started with a 5. So put a 5 in front of the 41 and it becomes 541. 541 in 1968 (chevy) is two-tone Ivory over med. blue poly. So your truck is white over blue right?

70shorty, The protect o plate is affixed to the last page of the Owner Protection Plan. Sounds like your on the right track as where to look.

Steve, on your P-O-P you should have a 51 in the upper corner. Call me when you have time and we'll get your avatar goin.

Re: Protect-o-Plate ?

Ivory is 526
med. Blue poly is 506 for your 1968

Edit. 521 is White. Your White is Ivory 526

Re: Protect-o-Plate ?

Ha ok I'm a bit lost. I thought 541 was the paint code for the blue? So 541 is the code for Ivory and blue.?

Even thought it looks white they call it ivory ?

SO when i go to paint I want 506 med poly blue and 526 ivory ?

Re: Protect-o-Plate ?

Yes 541 is the two-tone code for 506 med blue poly and 526 Ivory. 521 white and 526 ivory are close, but side by side you can easily see the difference. 521 is a bright white and 526 is kind of a antique white/ivory.
