64-66 front suspension

Has anyone found any other springs that work to lower the trucks.

I know there are lowering springs, but do springs from any other vehicles work?

Re: 64-66 front suspension

All three of my trucks i just cut the front coils, i think somebody on here used s10 springs once but cant remember who and would want to confirm with them before i tried it, besides that the only other thing i know far as springs is to buy drop springs, but im cheap and cut mine.

I cut mine too. Then put bags in. Then my compressor feel out on the freeway. So now my dumbass cant find my old springs. I can still drive the truck but it is bumpy as Hell. I just need some springs to get me by until i can afford another compressor.

Re: 64-66 front suspension

Just keep the bags on it. You could put a shrader (sp?) valves on it and use a portable tire pump that plugs into the lighter if you need to raise it. That's what I did for years with my 89 C1500.

That's what Ive been doing. I've been looking for a portable air compressor to keep with the truck. The thing is it take a minimum of 150psi to get the front up. A tire pump took like 25 minutes to pump it up.

Re: 64-66 front suspension

Anyone ever try '68-'72 small block Chevelle coils? Don't know if they'd lower it any, but the ride would be alot softer. Just a thought.....
