Gas smell inside cab, problem found.
 Started out as just a little smell, then more, then more. With todays ethenol gas, it just stank so bad inside my truck. Was a stale ethenol/gas smell.Found the cab bolt mount was puncturing the tank. It was only weeping the gas out but probably not for much longer. Time for that new floor I always wanted... Going to look for another cab I can rebuild while still driving this truck.

If it's a puncture it can be fixed with putty or emptied, flushed and soldered or brazed. If it's a rust pinhole, it's either time for a new one or have it flushed clean and recoated internally. Mine had rust pinholes and I got a Spectra.

I just roughed it up and put some JB weld on it. Hope it holds, hate to have to remove it again.
 I had the gas tank from my 66 Chevelle repaired once. A previous owner managed to put 2 pop rivets holes in it with his handy dandy trunk floor repair job. When I picked up the tank, I asked if they filled it with water and they said no, just welded them up. Maybe it's not as dangerous as it sounds. ?
