77 4x4 cab swap

i have a 77 4x4 that needs a new cab. ...luckily, i have access to an 84 cab via a neighbor, but i'm not exactly clear on how to make the hood, doors, and fenders from the 77 work with the 84 cab.

will the 77 one piece hood even fit over the cowl on the 84 cab?

Re: 77 4x4 cab swap

un-bolt the cowl and cab side of the hood hindges from the 84's cab and bolt on the 77 front clip, my 85 K20 had a 76 front clip on it when I bought it and my 85 K30 ccdrw is getting a 75 front clip when I get to that point
also the plastic screan that is under the cowl on the 84 can remain on the cab without hindering anything

x2 I have an 84 cab on a 76 2wd, other than having to massage my"inexpensive" aftermarket parts, it all bolts up. Being a tightwad makes a lot of work....

You will have to swap out the wiper transmission also.

you can use the one on the 80's cab at which point I recomend using a pair of 87-91 burb or blazer wiper arms with the sprayers on them, thats what I ran on mine and still run in it instead of the sprayers in the hood

Re: 77 4x4 cab swap

Thank you, sirs!

I bought the 84 cab and it appears everthing will work. I also got a free float 14 bolt and a 3/4 ton 10 bolt front out of the deal.
