Re: Vinyl dash
depends on the width, if one width is long enough to do the wrap then one yard will be enough,, since material that wide is hard to find you will need the length to cut the pattern from.. that would mean 2.5 to 3 yards.. i added 1 inch foam under mine, looked great except around the gauge cluster.. could not get that smooth.. i would have to take some tucks.. i used spray glue.. if you are not adding padding, yes on the bondo and light sanding. i gave up today and bought a dash cover...

Re: Vinyl dash
1 yard of vinyl is 36" x 52" wide. The best spray can glue to use is 3m Super 90. No substututes. I buy vinyl top glue in 5 gal jugs for like 80 bucks. If it ever has armorall on it you'll need to use wax and grease remover about 5 times to get it off or it will never stick. I hate armorall.
1 inch foam is too thick. Maybe 1/4" Hobby Lobby may have some vinyl. Last edited by rayfinseats; 11-29-2011 at 11:23 AM. |
