250 cam gear removal

Can someone tell me how to get the cam gear off of a 250 6cyl.?
i need to get the cam out to send the block out to get it dipped and bored.
but i cant seem to get a puller to grasp the gear well enough to get it offf. Any suggestions? Thanks , Tony

Re: 250 cam gear removal

The gear & cam come out together. There is a hole in the gear You line up with the retainer screws & remove the screws. I take it you have removed the lifters & fuel pump.
