Just Bought a 71 C-10 Longbed

Hello im new to the board,,I just bought a 71,Its got a little rust on the right rocker, the body's got some dings and dents,it has a granny 4 speed, disc brakes, long tube headers and the engine is very tired,it made it home anyway.I paid $1300,seemed like a fair price to me. I have a 93 truck motor with a carb setup, swirl port heads a summit 1102 cam, from the dyno results iv seen it should make great torque @ about 2400 RPM and be all done making power @ 4500rpm I figure that will be a well suited package with that the old granny 4spd and 410 gears. Here is a link to some photos of it..Id like to know what you all think,,thanks jim

Re: Just Bought a 71 C-10 Longbed

Thanks you guys, the bed is pretty rough dents wise to where itll make sense to probably just replace it but the only rust on the whole thing is on the outer rockers, typical SoCal truck.Im going to do the engine swap first and get it running and driving good before any body work.So far Im pretty happy with the purchase,no suprises,,,jim

It's a cream puff! That is a good starting point for a long and low build.
