Re: Picked up a new project today.

Think I might have my square body burban sold so now I'm leaning toward a stock restoration with a 6.0/4l80 swap.

That's a cool old truck. You got a good price. Yeah, you could part it out and make a few bucks. I for one would like to see it stay on the road. It seems like original trucks are fewer and farther between anymore.

Re: Picked up a new project today.

Got the old camper shell off tonight and tore all the old cabinets out of the back to find some rust in the bed floor, but not as bad as I thought it would be. Also found some cool old parts and tools. I'll get some pics up tomorrow.

That is a cool light installed on the front driver cab. Nice find, hope you keep it, but understand if you part it.

I wouldn't part it out. Looks like it would make a nice driver. Joseph

I agree, it is too nice to part. But...if you do...I'd like that floormat. Good luck whatever you decide to do.

Re: Picked up a new project today.

As of right now I don't plan on parting it out any more, I'm really starting to like the old truck.

And the worst rust spot

Re: Picked up a new project today.

And some off the cool stuff I found in the truck.
A new set of delco generator brushes and a new lifter for a Detroit desiel.

A new unopened set of delco points

A complete set of old Mac punches and chisels.

A box of thread taps, allen wrenches and misc.

And an old first aid kit.

Plus some old hammers and tire irons and tire chains.

Ya, it's a shame the cabinets made it rust because the rest of the floor is super straight. No worries though I'll have it blasted and patch it up before the spray in liner.

Re: Picked up a new project today.

Wow! nice score on the tools and old parts. I'd be all over the punch and chisel set if you decide you don't have room for them in your toolbox.
