I found some buckets! (pics)

Ok! I just got finished installing the carpet and new bucket seats. Yes I said new lol! I picked them up at a local yard for 35 bucks! They were wrapped up in the dealer remove plastic still. These seats also have detachable headrests which you can see by the pics i have taken them off for now. Can anyone tell me what these are out of. btw, the passenger seat has a flat table like back on it. The seat back folds down flat and you can use it like a table. Let me know guys!

That's what i'm wondering! I don't have a clue they were sitting on a trailer that was full of seats. That's why I was wondering is anyone knew what they came from. I'm thinking a mini van since it has the table top on the back of the passenger seat.

Hey there!

Looks like some mini van seats you got there!

I've been waiting for someone to discover these.

If you look in the early-mid '90's Pontiac Transports, Chevy Lumina APV's, and Olds Sillhuettes (SP) they all have 7 of them.
They come in both cloth and leather.
Been thinking about doing this set-up in one of my trucks.

If you use the two front buckets, they have the headrests, and fold down arm rests..........real COMFY!! The rear 5 are low backs, with plastic "tabletops" on the back. THEY FOLD OVER!!.
If you look at the factory arrangement in the vans, they are THREE ACCROSS in the second row.
Hmmmm...........How about mounting three of these on a stock 67-72 bench seat frame????
When the center seat is folded down, it should look alot like the old 67-68 CST buckets!! Only CHEAPER..........and more comfortable!!

Just a thought. After all, this late model crap has to be good for sumpthin'!!
Mike

Don't know about the real new ones, but my '94 Transport doesn't have headrests on any but the two fronts.
All the rears are low back, but have the same upholstery.

I'll try to post some pics.

These seats are in a '94 Pontiac Transport.
The two fronts have headrests, rear map pockets, and inner armrests. Drivers side is manual HGT. adjustable.
They measure roughly 22" across on the bottom cushions.

The rears measure about 19" across. All three rears together measure right at 56" in the minivan. They almost touch.
Two fronts and 1 rear should be 61"-63" wide, depending on how tight you group them.
A stock 67-72 truck bench is approx. 60" wide on the bottom cushion.
I also noticed, it makes a difference which rears you pick up.

It's a puzzle back there, not all seats fit all positions, but are otherwise identical.
One uses the female seat buckle, one uses a retractible, one has two females, etc. I think rhe belts can be swapped around, or left off completely.

Center seat down.

I think these would be slick in a Blazer. If you take the pods that are in the van floor, and mount them in a Blaze, they could be made not only to tip up, but remove with just a flip of a latch!

Those are similar, but not exactly the same. My headrests are a whole lot smaller. I'll get a pic of the seat with the headrest on in just a little bit. I'm really curious of what these came from.

Cool I found some buckets..

Hey HotRod70C10 you state that they were on a trailer with other seats on it. What did the other seats look like, did any of them match? Do they have any more of those seats? Will they ship them? ?????

The yard I got them at has the trailer out all of the time. They usually load it up from time to time just to get rid of the stock that they have. There weren't any more of these but, there was another pretty nice set that I was looking at the reclining lever was broken off the driver side though. I doubt they will ship but, if you would like I can go get a couple of pics of what they have now. They charge $35 for bench or buckets (pair). I don't know what shipping would be so, I really don't know if it would be cost effective. Let me know though, Billy

Hey hardrock, You should throw that second row setup from your van in your truck. I would like to see that.

WOW!!! Those look great! Where in OK is this yard? It just might be worth the trip from DFW to get a set. That or the next time I make a trip to MO and if it's on the way, I'd pick up a set then.

It's on the south side of okc. It's called G&R salvage, it's on the west side of I-35 off of sw 89th and Sheilds. The didn't have any more of this seat yesterday but, They did have some other bucket and bench setups.

Hey stepped68,
If they are honda seats that's ok. I'll just have something the rice boys will like lol! I love the seats that's all that matters ya know?

Yeah, I might just do that. Been thinkin' pretty strong about it.

Just haven't decided what color would look good, or which truck! LOL!

There are a few of these vans in the yards around here, but I didn't see an Olds van with the beautiful set of Charcoal leather seats that I liked.
Hmmmm..................Maybe get two sets and do a 67-72 Crew Cab!!

Mike

In a pickup you can just about make any kind of seat work.I had a 6-way power out of a Olds 98 in mine. It depends on what you like. Got a Ford bench for it now like new for $50.
