Question Colour question.

I was wondering if anyone had ever come across this before.

My truck - a 1981 Silverado (I'm guessing there on the trim level) is Burnt orange metallic outside, under the hood, under the trim, ect. but it is SILVER metallic inside. The dash, back of cab, floors, roof are all silver.

My understanding is that all the interior metal matched the exterior paint from the factory. I can't find any evidence of inside the cab ever being Burnt Orange Metallic.

Do I have an oddball or is this something that was an option? My SPID label is long gone.

[edit] Sorry about the "all" in the subject (unless it's gone), my dog decided it should be there when he sat on the mouse...

Re: Colour question.

They always matched the interior and exterior paint, so someone painted the outside of your cab at some point.

Re: Colour question.

Must have done one helluva job...I can find no evidence of silver under the orange Even on the firewall and no orange under the silver inside the cab.

I'll take some pics later.

Re: Colour question.

Possibly a cab swap at some point but I would bet is a repaint.

Re: Colour question.

Maybe someone swapped the dash out. I've seen it done.
