Correct Size Battery for 69 c10
looking for the correct replacement battery for my 69 Chevy C10. It has a
24f in it now. Is that the correct size? I'd like to find one of those Delco Battery toppers that make it look period correct, but I cant seem to fine the 24f style, just the 24 |

If I remember right 24F is a ford battery. The posts are reversed from a grp 24 which is the proper size.

Yup 24f is Ford with reversed posts. A standard 24 is top post which is correct for your truck. A 74 should be side post and could be used if you wanted to go that way. The universal fit combo terminal type batteries usually work good too and in that case I find the side post ends best to use. You get the tops left over if you want to boost somebody.

Why not go to your favorite parts store web site, enter your truck's info and select a battery.
I'll bet it will be close to correct in size, CCA, and terminal orientation. My way is to decide how I want the terminals, measure the battery tray, and go get the biggest CCA battery with the right terminals arrangement that fits in the tray. From what I've seen in used vehicles the usual approach is to find the smallest possible battery, with the terminals on the wrong sides, buy that, and hack the wiring to make it work... |

lol. So Our trucks should have a standard Group 24 with the terminals not reversed (Like the 24R Than?) I stock group 24 at my shop so thats easy, Plus I can get a delco Battery topper for that one to make it look correct
