What's the trick to reinstall shifter in a sm465
Got my trans back and got it installed but now I can seem to get the shifter to seat back into the trans to be able to turn the collar and lock it into place. The trans seems to be in neutral as I can turn the output shaft. What needs to be aligned in the case to get the shifter back in. I should have tried to install it before the installation but didn't think there would be an issue. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks, Don Posted via Mobile Device |

The internal selector may have slipped out. Easiest thing to do is get a screwdriver and aling the selector so your shifter will fit in.

You might have to push the reverse lockout button on the inside to get it to move.
