Oh, but you can speed shift them. I used to put the broken shifters behind my seat as momentos. Its not easy, and they always broke from first to second. Fun though!

I've had two big block 3spd shortbeds,a '68 CST and a '72 Highlander. Both with posi and tach. Now,I'll give you three guesses if I could speed shift either of those.
