LS? Question/List

I have gotten extremely lost trying to keep up with which LS engine is which, and what each motor came in. If someone has the time, knowledge and motivation a lisst could be compiled, for sticky purposes, for new engine dummies like me.
LS1=? CID/Liters?, Block material/Head material?, Available in:? Stock HP?, Years produced?
LS2=
LS3=
so on...
Wouldn't have to follow this form obvioulsy, but could eliminate some of the confusion, at least for me.

Re: LS? Question/List

I knew there was someone out there with that knowledge just waiting to share. That's why I love this forum, no ribbing for not knowing, just help. Thanks
And yes, the link to the LS forum helped too, new files added to my hard-drive.

Re: LS? Question/List

if your gonna plan on an lsx swap, the best help ive found so far is from the books. for about $20 each they have a ton of good info in them.
Amazon.com: How to Rebuild GM LS-Series Engines... Amazon.com: How to Rebuild GM LS-Series Engines...Amazon.com: How To Supercharge & Turbocharge... Amazon.com: How To Supercharge & Turbocharge...Amazon.com: How to Build High-Performance Chevy... Amazon.com: How to Build High-Performance Chevy...
those three books go over in great detail the history, design, and models of ls engines and where/which vehicle they can be found in. ive got this one on the way Amazon.com: How to Build and Modify GM LS-Series... Amazon.com: How to Build and Modify GM LS-Series... but i hear its also a great source of info. my eyes get real sore reading computer screens for too long, so i find having a book is a great resource for me.
