Thunderchickenauto.com

Has anybody bought anything from these guys? They are local to me and seem to have some really good deals. Just wondering if it's good quality. Some of their items they don't even seem to show on their website either but I found it on craigslist. Here are a couple things that I was looking at. Thanks for any and all responses.

Re: Thunderchickenauto.com

pro comp.. the ign. some have had issue with these... research that item
the intake is a rip off of an edle
the exhaust.. that I'd need to see..
firechicken is just a vendor. if they are local . and you like the parts they are pawning. go for it.. me I'd get the edle intake..

Re: Thunderchickenauto.com

Ya I thought the intake looked and sounded like a copy but I wasn't sure and don't know enough yet about this stuff to know if a copy would be worth the savings or not and wasn't sure of the other stuff. I know you get what you pay for but I still like good deals like anybody else as long as they are good quality too. Thanks.

Re: Thunderchickenauto.com

Those manifolds work fine. My machinist is top quality and is the go to guy for those in the know around here and he offers those to save customers money. He claims he can bolt these on and he usually has to plane the Edelbrocks. I don't buy cheap distributors...period.

Re: Thunderchickenauto.com

That's kinda what I thought on distributors but I don't know enough about distributors and brands I guess I just want to get rid of the points type some day and don't want to spend an arm and a leg on a HEI type distributor. But I'm glad to hear the intake will work fine and cost less. I figure if I keep asking the pro's on this forum I will learn soon enough though hopefully what is good and what isn't. Thanks again from a rookie.

I didn't look at the stuff in your links but I bought an HEI off of Skip White on e-Bay for my 454 and never had any issues with it. I think it was 40 bucks at the time I bought it.

If you do a search on Skip White in the google box above (click the 67-72chevytrucks.com circle) there are some threads on it.

Re: Thunderchickenauto.com

I have used these PROCOMP distributors and it NEVER worked right. I ended up tossing it and using MSD and haven't had any problems since. for electronics just pay the extra money its worth not having the extra headaches...
