What engine perch can I used?

Hey Guys. I have a quick question on what engine perch to use. I have a 64 swb that I am putting a early model 350 in. One of my perches is torched. What year/make/model perches will work for my truck? I would like to go down to the junk yard and pick up something, just wana make sure I get the right thing first time though.

Thanks!

Re: What engine perch can I used?

I think they used the 67-72 in a '62 truck because it has a different crossmember than the '63 +.

'64-'66 came with v-8's as an option, why not just use that style perch and then use a replacement motor mount for a '64 with a 283 engine?

Walk in to parts house "I need motor mounts for a '64 C10 with a 283..." Bam! Done.

Re: What engine perch can I used?

The '63-'66 trucks use the same motor mount perches for the 230 and 250 I6 as well as the V8's (283 and 327). In the '67-'72's, the 230 and 250 perches are the same as the '63-'66 perches. The small block (283,307,327,350) perches in the '67-'72's are different, as they are located forward of where the '63-'66's mount. You can use the '67-'72 small block perches in the '63-'66's but it moves the engine forward. This will mean that the transmission will need to be moved forward as well. If you have trouble finding the correct perches locally, let me know, I have a few sets.

Re: What engine perch can I used?

I've used the 6 cyl perches before, they are very similiar to the V-8, just use the v-8 mount(rubber part). I am not sure which set of holes I used last time, if I moved forward from the 6 cyl or back, my frame had both sets of holes. I did not move the trans crossmember.
