68 gmc lwb 1500
Hey guys I'm new to the site even though its says I joined last year. I had computer problems but I'm up and runnin' now. Cool site and alot of awesome trucks here. I currently have a 68 GMC 1500. I have a total of $600 in this truck including purchase. My intention is to make this truck look like a 60's era speed shop truck which I have already started with the cheap stuff like hand lettering the doors and pinstriping it myself. I will lower it and put wider steel wheels on the rear in the future. I will keep everyone interested posted. I currently do not know how to post pics to a thread so hope to soon.

Re: 68 gmc lwb 1500
if you click post reply and your blank text where you can type a message you will find a button that says manage attachments click it and you will see 5 things that say browse click on it and hoose the picture. then click submit or upload files and then once its done and there uploaded close it and submit your message. you still have to type 2 letters in to submit .

Re: 68 gmc lwb 1500
I did. I've been doing it for about 9 years now but not on the professional level by any meens. I still need practice and don't get to stripe or letter as much as I would like, but it good enough for the people I run around with.

I'll have to take some. Its pretty ratty. Same color green upholstery as the outside with the factory black rubber mat still in place but beat up.

Here are some interior shots. Under that seat cover is basically just foam bottom and back on the drivers side.

Re: 68 gmc lwb 1500
Thanks 50bomb. Hopefully I can get it lowered befor it gets to cold out. I don't have a big enough garage or driveway so in the winter it has to go sit out at my inlaws acreage.

Bump...Did you get it lowered? Still loving the way it looks. Your truck gives my truck hope and inspiration.

Re: 68 gmc lwb 1500
Nice truck! I'm totally diggin it. The lite green would be my next choice of favorite paint color. I also like the butternut yellow as well.
I am also totally liking the pin-stripping. I think you've done a really good job on laying down the pin-stripes. It definitely sets the truck apart from everyone elses. I also like the idea of a 60's era speed shop truck. Good luck! Keith |
