Carb/TBI Tank Difference
Just wanting to make sure that the only differences are with the sending unit and not the tank itself? Thanks

Re: Carb/TBI Tank Difference
The TBI tank is baffled so the fuel pump does not suck air.

Re: Carb/TBI Tank Difference
Malibu is correct. You will be ok untill it gets to a quarter of a tank then when you stop or go around a corner the fuel will run away from the pickup.

Re: Carb/TBI Tank Difference
Besides new tanks are cheap. I just bought a 31 gallon fom Rockauto for my dually conversion, 120.00 with shipping.

Re: Carb/TBI Tank Difference
I'm getting my 16 gallon EFI tank for 76 from rockauto.
I was told by the parts store guy that the aftermarket ones currently in production are all baffled, cheaper to produce just one style instead of 2 to fit all years. Haven't bothered to confirm since I need a baffled tank anyways. |

Re: Carb/TBI Tank Difference
Thanks for the reply! The reason I ask is because I'm wanting to start restoring my pawpaws 87 chevy that's sat up since 93. It needs tanks and pumps and I can get a tank for free. I want to try to get it running before putting alot of money in it.
