can someone shed light on simple procedure to remove the floor vents on the driver and passenger side?
Mine are rusty and want to recondition them and reinstall.

I think this is how it works:

Unscrew the 2 bolts at the handle, swing out the clip at the vent door, then the handle bar will lift out. I can't remember if the vent will just lift out at that point or if you need to unscrew the top bar on the vent a bit until the bottom bar will lift out of the hole.

yep, That top pin with the spring gets pushed down and than you can slide to top out first.

Mine does not have the spring setup - it has a keeper clip as in the pict.?.

My passenger side is like yours wabash, except it's upside down and I had to fashion a nut to hold it. I don't know if I'm using a Drivers side vent door on the passenger side or if it's supposed to be that way, but it works. I knew I remembered having a bolt that was a screw type.

Looks to me like if you squeeze the spring together it will release the pin so you can pull it down.
