FREE Left over parts
I have some parts I took off of the truck and some used parts I bought and am not going to use now. All of the parts are free. I will not ship. Located 10 miles south of Buffalo NY.
72 stock disc brake set up. Spindles, rotors and calipers. You would need to probably put new rotors and calipers. Bought these before I decided to go with drop spindles. 67 original spindles. Front and rear stock coil springs. Stock pan bar. |

Re: FREE Left over parts
Interested in the Disc brake set up- just bought my first Chevy truck so please be patient with me- will your 72 set up work on my 1970 Stepside? and what else would I need to convert my 6 lug drum brakes to disc- (preferably power disc)... Thanks in advance--

Re: FREE Left over parts
This link will tell you about converting to disc brakes. After you read it let me know if you want the parts. If you plan on doing a drop to the front end I can tell you where I got parts to do mine. I am doing a 4" drop i n the front and 6" drop in the back.

Re: FREE Left over parts
Wow... first thanks for the information.. I read the link you gave me and I'm afraid I just ended up slightly confused... My truck is a 1970 with 6 lug drum brakes- I assume that means it has the OEM cross member.
So am I correct in saying that your spindles, rotors, and calipers (from a 72 ) would bolt up without modification and that all I would have to doto convert to front discs is change out my ball joints? Sorry- this project is bumping up against my limited capabilities.. I live just East of Rochester so I'm close to you- I'm hoping this ends up a simple conversion.... please let me know your thoughts PS. What mod -if any - would I need to do to the rear 6 lug drums? |

Re: FREE Left over parts
Yes you would have to get 72 ball joints, outer tie rod ends. The rotors and calipers are rusty on the ones I have so you would have to get new rotors and calipers. As far as converting the rear you can do a search on the board here and there are plenty of articles.
