porpoting valve reset
Can some one tell me really quick how to reset the damn thing!!!!

Have someone or something hold the little end button in, & pump the brakes a few times.

Not all proportioning valves have the external button. If the valve is working and you get the system working it will reset itself.
Try bleeding both outlets at once. I use little tubes and direct the fluid back into the master cylinder reservoirs. Jim |

The button is to bypass the "proportioning" part of the valve to make it easier to bleed the back brakes. Most sevice books have a diagram of a simple tool you can make to hold it in. Once all the air is out of the system, you simply press on the peddle really hard and it will reset.

I have one of the tools for holding it in so you can do it by yourself but I don't remember where it was bought at.

I installed a line loc on my 70 1/2 ton and the front brakes won't hold. Could this be the perportioning valve acting up. I have all new brakes etc. and they areadjusted right.
