Pics of my 59 LWB Fleetside

Here are some pics of my 59 Apache. I have owned this truck for 16 years. I bought it from my brother-in-law the same day that my father-in-law purchased the 66 Chevelle SS396 from him too. It's mostly stock with 75,000
plus original miles. 235 six with 3 speed column shift. No oil filter, no turn signals, only the driver's side sun visor.

I've purchased a good quality spray gun and I have a 5 hp Black max compressor, so in the spring I will attempt to do a little body work and paint. I'm planning a 2 tone scheme in the same colors as the seat - silver/blue metallic with Bombay Ivory. The motor was rebuilt about 5 years ago and runs like a dream. Long beds are scarce here in the south, farmers and contractors worked these trucks until there was not much left. This one sat idle under a shed from 1971 to 1995, the old guy got his keys taken away by his wife after he wrecked her Maverick. He was 80 years old then and the original owner. I spent a day under the truck with a putty knife getting rid of all the dirt dauber nests! Hope you like my four-eyed Apache.

Nice truck!!!
I bought a '55 to match my fathers Belair but I wish they made a true fleetside in '55. They started in the right direction with the Cameo but these stepside beds just hold so little its silly...
Then again... my truck will probably never haul much in the bed anyways...
